State ladder: apprentice → journeyman → master Checked in part Checked October 22, 2026
Checked in part. Exam and license fee amounts are not published in the PSI Candidate Information Bulletin or in the Board rules retrieved from rules.sos.state.ga.us on 2026-10-22 (the bulletin states only a $25 duplicate score report fee), so exam.fee and licenseFee are null. The widely repeated figures ($30 application, $223 journeyman exam, $267 master exam, $35/$75 renewal) come from secondary websites and could not be confirmed on a primary page.

| Total hours required | not published |

| Apprentice registration | No state registration system |
| Exam | PSI — PSI Candidate Information Bulletin (Nov. 2024) covers content and scheduling; no examination fee amount is published in the bulletin text retrieved. Minimum passing score 70. |

| Renewal | Every 2 years |
| Continuing education | 4 hours per year (Rule 121-4-.02(7)) |
| Master credential | Master Plumber (Class I restricted / Class II unrestricted) |
Registration, in the board’s terms: Georgia has no state apprentice license or registration. Experience is classified as Primary Experience (hands-on installation work under a licensed master plumber) and Secondary Experience as defined in Rule 121-3-.01.
Master Plumber (Class I restricted / Class II unrestricted): Minimum 5 years of plumbing experience, at least 2 of the 5 years licensed as a Journeyman Plumber and at least 2 years of Primary Experience; references from licensed plumbers (Class I: at least 1 Master; Class II: at least 2 Masters). Class I covers single- and two-family dwellings and commercial structures up to 10,000 sq ft; Class II is unrestricted and requires commercial/industrial experience (Rule 121-3-.02).
Pass the PSI master examination with a score of at least 70. Fee amounts are not published in the primary sources retrieved.
A license not renewed by its expiration date is invalid (expired/lapsed). Rule 121-4-.02 provides a late-renewal period, after which reinstatement is at the Division's discretion.
Reinstatement: Reinstatement is possible after the late-renewal period at the Division's discretion; if a reinstatement application is submitted more than 3 years after expiration, the applicant must take and pass the examination (Rule 121-4-.02).
Past the line: More than 3 years past expiration, reinstatement requires passing the licensing examination again.
Georgia endorses journeyman licenses from: none. Rule 121-2-.03 allows Georgia licensing divisions to enter formal reciprocity agreements and to endorse an out-of-state license where the other board's examination and requirements are substantially equal and similar privileges are offered to Georgia licensees, but no state is named in any primary source, and the Division of Master and Journeyman Plumbers is reported (Plumbers Training Institute FAQ) to reciprocate with no state at this time. No published journeyman endorsement route exists.
