Texas plumber license renewal, in full

Texas renews annually, cheaply and unforgivingly: $40 and 6 hours of continuing education a year — and a 2-year reinstatement window with a closed door behind it.

The annual cycle

The journeyman license renews every year. Renewal fee: $40. Continuing education: 6 hours of continuing professional education per year (all TSBPE licensees) — owed for each year, including the ones you might rather forget; reinstatement means making the CE current too.

Late, but inside the line

Expired up to 2 years: reinstatement on the board's terms — fees and CE catch-up. You may not work on the license while it is expired.
